On Thursday basement boys Nasarawa United drew 0-0 at home to 13th placed Kano Pillars. Pillars were not in action today as their game was cancelled due to Enugu Rangers' involvement in European competition.
Leaders Plateau United were thrashed 3-0 by Abia Warriors who move up to 4th- 4 points off top. Akwa United moved up to 8th after getting a good win against 2nd placed Lobi Stars. Lobi remain 3 points behind but have a game in hand.
Rivers United are now 3rd after a 2-0 away win against strugglers Adamawa United, Dakkada drew 1-1 with Sunshine Stars and Ifeanyi Uba moved up to 6th after overcoming Heartland 1-0.
Warri Wolves got a much-needed win to move them 3 points above the relegation zone. They beat Kwara United 2-1 who are 18th.
Elsewhere, Katsina United beat Jigawa Golden Stars 3-2.
On Wednesday, MFM could move up to 2nd if they win at home to Nasarawa United, whereas a draw would lift the visitors off the foot of the table.
