Nico Williams refuses to address Barcelona and Chelsea rumours

Spain is ready to face the challenge of beating Germany. 'La Roja' face the German team, against whom they have not lost in an official match since the reunification of the country. Luis de la Fuente's side are the only team to have won every match they have played so far at the European Championship and are already looking ahead to next Friday's match.

Nico Williams, one of the best players of 'la Roja', gave an interview to the newspaper 'AS' and gave his opinion on whether they have a chance of winning the tournament: "I think it's clear. Nobody said we were going to get to this point. Everyone said that Spain weren't favourites, that we didn't have a very good team, that we didn't know what. Thousands of opinions against us. We are showing that we are a great team, that we have ambition and the desire to reach the final. We are going to take it step by step. In the end, flying low is a better way to live. Let's hope we continue on this path and we can fulfil a dream.

Regarding his future, the younger Williams, who has been linked with Chelsea and FC Barcelona, made it clear that he prefers to wait until after the European Championship to define it and referred to the role of his brother Inaki, who is supporting him as well as his family. "My brother is a very important person for me. He has lived through a similar situation to mine. He has also had offers outside Athletic," he said.

"I said I didn't want to know anything about anything that comes from outside, about transfers or stories. They know what I'm like, the personality I have; and I don't like to know because I get distracted easily. I prefer to be focused on one thing and go for it. Because if one thing or another comes to me, in the end my head doesn't work very well. My agent, my parents and my family know me perfectly well and they know that I don't want to hear anything until the European Championship is over.
