When a goalkeeper scores a goal, it is usually in the final stages of matches when they go up for a corner to try and get a last minute leveller or winner. Scoring from your own six yard box inside the opening 15 minutes does not happen very often.
In the League Two fixture between Cheltenham Town and Newport County, Newport keeper Thomas King booted the ball down field in the 12th minute and the ball even ended up reaching Cheltenham's area.
The ball bounced just outside the D and caught Cheltenham keeper Joshua Griffiths off guard. The ball bounced over him and into the back of the net. Newport were 0-1 up with a goal from one end of the field to the other.
The match ended 1-1 as Matty Blair levelled for Cheltenham in first half stoppage time.
