In four months, it'll be a year since Alex Scott's quality was first reported. This Bristol City youngster is thought to have been on Everton and Leicester's watchlists. Now, Newcastle, Tottenham and Palace have joined that fight, according to 'The Sun'. The season has been useful for the gem to get new hopefuls on board.
The mentioned source reported that, to let him go, his owners are asking for around €28 million. It's a very high price for a youngster who has not yet been tested out in the best league, but one must understand that the English market often gives up figures which are higher than the rest of the other major leagues' average due to television rights.
In any event, the 2022-23 season has so far been a successful one for the midfielder, as he's already played 38 times in the Championship. He's had enough to get a goal and five assists, which is his best so far in that aspect. In terms of being the one to put the ball in the back of the net, he's three goals off his record in the 21-22 season, when he was still in the same league.
Taking the financial situation of his hopefuls into account, Newcastle are the ones to have the biggest room to play with to get him in. It's also without doubt that the Magpies have taken a large step forward in the Premier League thanks to their new owners, so it's less and less likely that gems like Alex Scott will get a space in the squad, especially regularly. Another option would be to get him on loan.
