There is a club interested in getting hold of Rafa Silva. It seemed like things were going to calm down for Benfica and his agent this summer, but 'The Sun' revealed that Newcastle are planning to make a low offer for him.
This will be significantly less than his buyout clause, which according to the previously cited newspaper, is 80 million euros. It is not known how much money the Magpies will put on the table. It is not very likely the Portuguese club will accept this proposal.
Why? Because the footballer is one of the most important players in the team and his contract runs until 2024. Unless the offer beats initial expectations, it does not look like the player will change team. His market value, that said, is 32 million euros.
He has never played outside of his homeland. He began his career at Feirense, then went to Sporting Braga and ended up at Benfica, where he has had nailed down a place in the starting line-up. Proof of that is that he has made at least 25 appearances in his last four seasons.
