This Sunday, a FIFA meeting decided on the armbands participating teams could wear at the Qatar World Cup. They contain the OneLove heart which is a movement to support rights for LGBTQ people, but there are no rainbow colours or slogans on it.
However, one player is not going to follow those orders. Neuer could be fined. The Germany captain will wear it against Japan.
According to 'Sphera Sports', the German goalkeeper is willing to pay the fine out of his own pocket if needed.
Neuer has once again shown his concern and constantly fights for the rights of those groups who are typically discriminated against. However, he could set a precedent at the 2022 Qatar World Cup despite seemingly covering it with his long sleeve shirt.
