Neto rejects Arsenal, giving Barca a headache

In recent weeks, everything seemed to point towards Neto leaving Barcelona. The Brazilian goalkeeper has rarely seen minutes with 'Los Azulgranas' and all information seemed to suggest that he had made the decision to leave the Catalan capital this summer.

Arsenal appeared as favourites to sign the shot stopper. The English club are looking to let Bernd Leno go, and are attempting to replace him with Neto Murara.

At Barca, Mateu Alemany has already began working on ways to reduce the wage bill at the club in order to facilitate new signings this summer. In this way, Alemany seemed to have most things in place to allow Neto to leave the club and free up some finance and space in the squad.

However, according to 'Sport', Neto has now decided to turn down all interest in him and instead complete his contract at Barca, which has one year left on it. This decision is without doubt a serious problem for the Director of Football.

Xavi Hernandez's idea in terms of the goalkeepers at the club has not changed because of this. The two keepers he will count on next season are Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Iñaki Peña, who will join the team after his contract at Galatasaray comes to an end.
