Napoli after Gio Simeone

Even though he has scored just one goal in his last seven matches, Gio Simeone is having a great season at Hellas Verona, who he joined on loan from Cagliari last summer. They have an option to buy the player as well. 

He has gone on a bit of a dry run in the last few weeks, but he now has 16 goals to his name in 31 Serie A matches. And his numbers have caught the attention of some big Italian clubs. 

According to information from 'Corriere dello Sport', Napoli are interested in getting hold of Diego Simeone's son. His rights belong to a Cagliari who are in the fight to avoid the drop and the striker now seems too good for the club. 

At the age of 26, Napoli's interest could see him move to his first big European club. Since his arrival in Italy, he has been through mid-table or bottom half teams, but he has never been at a club the size of Napoli. 

He moved to Italy in 2016 and since then, he scored 14 goals in 37 matches for Genoa, 22 in 80 for Fiorentina and 18 in 72 for Cagliari.
