Naldo hammered home from 30 yards to help Schalke to Ruhr derby delight

Aside from it being a derby, the stakes were even higher in this one, with the two battling it out to finish second in the Bundesliga. 

Schalke now sit in the driving seat following their victory over their rivals, with goals from Yevhen Konoplyanka and Naldo the difference at the Veltins-Arena.

Naldo's strike was particularly noteworthy, as he slammed home a free-kick from range with less than 10 minutes left in the game.

The ball was laid into the centre-back's path 35 yards out and he duly thundered an effort beyond Roman Burki and into the back of the net for his seventh goal of the season.
