Bayern Munich beat Borussia Dortmund 1-3 in the German Super Cup. Nagelsmann's side claimed the first official title of the season by defeating their opponents in an entertaining match.
The Bavarian coach was asked in the press conference afterwards about the Lewandowski-Haaland debate. The first scored two goals, while the second could only manage a goal that was eventually disallowed.
For Nagelsmann, his striker is better than the Borussia Dortmund striker: "Robert is a bit older than Erling, so he has more experience. What they have in common is that both are very dangerous in front of goal and can finish with any part of the body."
"Lewandowski is very good in the air and can kick with both feet and I think so can Erling. There are many similarities, but they are still different players. I am very happy to have Lewandowski," he said.
For the Bayern coach, it is key to analyse how long the Pole has been at the elite level: "I think Lewandowski has shown for several years the high level at which he is capable of playing. He is a world-class player. That's a big difference. Erling hasn't been in the Bundesliga that long, but his numbers are very good. Even so, it is remarkable to have so much success and to score so many goals over several years in different clubs and to help the club, in Lewandowski's case."
