Dani Ceballos' contract with Real Madrid runs until 2023. It is unknown whether or not he will continue beyond this summer. The club is considering two options: renewing him or selling him.
Betis have been mentioned as a possible destination for the Spaniard. In this regard, the midfielder made it clear on 'Radio Marca' that he has had no contact with his former club. "My love for Betis is unconditional. At the time I left Betis because there was no sporting project and the team was fighting to avoid relegation to the second division. There is nothing closed, I haven't spoken to the club", he stressed.
He admitted that he has also not spoken to Madrid about their plans for him ahead of the 2022-23 campaign. "I have one year left on my contract, we haven't spoken about renewing it or offers. There is still the Champions League final. After that, we'll talk," he said.
Ceballos told how bad his ankle has been giving him a hard time. "The worst five months of my life.... My ankle didn't respond to me. I tried to play the final with a medical report that told me I had a two or three-week injury. Well, I didn't... I arrived in Madrid and I had a fracture in a hole. The doctors told me that if, after the two infiltrations, I had played 20 minutes more, I wouldn't be able to play football any more," he relived.
Finally, he spoke about the final between Madrid and Liverpool. "The best game we played was in London, against Chelsea. We play the final on a neutral ground, with 50% of the crowd in our favour, Liverpool have great fans, but we are calm," he concluded.
