Barcelona said goodbye this Thursday to the fight for the La Liga tile and gave quite a poor image against Osasuna, but they improved on the last matchday versus Alaves.
Quique Setien spoke about his future and about Barcelona's improvement from the last game: "We've reflected deeply on the situation and we are all very excited about the Champions League. We have spoken and we have corrected some things. This result allows us to look to the future with more confidence and a different state of mind. Winning like that has strengthened us."
The coach also gave his viewpoint on the doubts over his future at the club. "I've always been calm. It's not my future which concerns me, but the club's. I'm just another person in a huge club and I'm not thinking about those things. I'm concentrating on working, there are things I can't control."
"I've always felt supported. If it were not like that, I might have to take a different decision," he said when leaving the door open to a possible resignation if the board doubted his work.
Setien also praised Leo Messi who had a great game. "When he plays he always makes the difference, I hope he can keep on making us happy like he has done for so many years," Setien continued.
The Barca coach praised the Argentine's ability to make decisions. "He usually decides where he is most needed on occasions. When one is closer to the goal, the effort is less and he can do more dangerous things. But if he's in another position, he can create a dangerous chance. Furthermore, he creates spaces because they are keeping an eye on him," he explained.
To conclude, Setien was happy to end the league on a high and he gave more information on Lenglet's injury: "He felt a problems and they were all told it wasn't the time to take risks. He did what he had to do. I don't think it's anything serious."
