Inter were beaten at home by Al-Ittihad. Moussa Diaby was at his best and, with two goals, he put the game to bed in just 47 minutes. Diaby netted the first in the 25th minute thanks to a good pass from Aouar. The second came early in the second half.
With the game under control, manager Laurent Blanc decided to take off Diaby, who by then was already quite upset because he had heard racist insults from a section of the Italian fans.
The Al-Ittihad coach went over to calm him down and escort him to the touchline. The boos spread and then Diaby made a gesture to the Inter fans. He held up two fingers, recalling the brace he had scored for them just minutes earlier.
