Mourinho's huge anger: "He's the worst referee I've ever seen"

Roma have slipped into a rut over the last few games. Only Paulo Dybala managed to maintain the capital club's sporting standards in the closing stages of the season, but an injury sidelined him, and the team felt it.

Jose Mourinho spoke on 'DAZN' after the draw against Monza and hit out at Daniele Chiffi, the referee of the match. "This was the worst referee I have come across in my career. Believe me, I have dealt with many referees who were bad. Normally, when I talk about referees it's because they have a direct influence on the game. In this case, I don't think so, but he was awful," he said.

"He has no human connection with anyone. He has no empathy, he showed a red card to Celik, who slipped, because he was exhausted in the 96th minute," Mourinho added.

After speaking to 'DAZN', the Roma coach continued in the club's official media. "I don't like to talk about the referees after the game. I have to say that we don't do the pressure that other clubs do. We can't go out and say: 'I don't want this referee anymore'. Other teams do it and we know clearly that they do it. Because you see that some referees never referee certain clubs. We don't have that strength," the Portuguese underlined.

"Every time we have this guy refereeing us.... I stopped doing my job halfway through the second half because I knew the referee was going to send me off as well," he added.
