The mess continues at Roma between Jose Mourinho and Rick Karsdorp. The coach left the Dutch defender out of the match against Torino and he did not hesitate to take an early flight back to the Netherlands.
The controversy stems from the match against Sassuolo. The 'Giallorrossi' drew 1-1 and, after the match, Mou made some striking statements: "I feel betrayed by a player, I told him to look for a team in January, but I don't think...".
The Portuguese did not name any player, but it soon became clear that Karsdorp was the one named. In fact, the player's own agent publicly referred to it and criticised the coach's attitude: "This is not the way to treat someone who has been at Roma for five years".
Karsdorp, 27, has so far made eleven official appearances for Roma this season, with a total of 686 minutes in his boots. Since arriving at the Olimpico in 2020, he has made 122 appearances and scored one goal.
