Mason Mount has signed a long-term deal with the Red Devils and will play in a Manchester United shirt until 2028 after leaving Chelsea. The 24-year-old explained the reasons for his departure in an interview with his current club's press.
"Several months ago, it became clear I wasn't in Chelsea's plans going forward and once I knew United were involved my decision was made up," he said.
The English midfielder has joined the Old Trafford outfit for 60 million pounds. He will be part of Erik ten Hag's new midfield and will fight for silverware under the Dutch manager.
Mount went on to add: "Massive club, huge iconic players that have played here and I wanted to be part of that from the beginning. Getting here early ready for pre-season to start was a main objective of mine as well. This is what I've worked a long, long time for and it is so exciting."
