Moreno emulated Messi's goal against Almunia to go top of Pichichi

Doing things which the Barca star also does is not easy. That is precisely what the Villarreal striker managed to do. It is a very difficult skill to pull off and he did it perfectly. 

Pau Torres saw Moreno get in between the centre backs and put a long pass for Moreno who was one on one with Eibar's Dimitrovic. The goalie came out, but the striker kept his cool. He scooped the ball over his head before running onto the loose ball to hit it into the empty net. 

The move was very similar to Messi's goal nine seasons ago, in an unforgettable Champions League match. Messi scored two goals to knock Arsenal out of the tournament. On that occasion, the Barcelona player did not lift the ball as high as Moreno. 

In addition, unlike what happened with Gerard Moreno, the ball went a bit behind him and he had to check his run to score the goal. The Catalan, however, did not have to do that. 

Although the Villarreal came in a losing cause, it was enough for Gerard Moreno to go back top of the Pichichi table with eight goals.
