Morata will make it to the World Cup: he has ankle oedema

One of the worst news for Atletico at the Nuevo Mirandilla was the injury to Alvaro Morata. The centre-back came off the pitch with his hands on his face after ten minutes due to a stamp on his foot and fearing the worst.

The club reported that the striker suffered a traumatism in his foot after the first medical examination, which left doubts and alarms about his presence in the World Cup that is just around the corner.

This Sunday, the Madrid club updated the medical report after the tests that the striker has undergone and everything has remained as a "soft tissue oedema" in the ankle.

"Alvaro Morata is suffering from soft tissue edema in his ankle. The evolution of his discomfort will condition his incorporation into the group," the club said.

The 'COPE' journalist close to Atlético de Madrid, Antonio Ruiz, assured that Morata will have no problems and that he will make it to the World Cup because he has plenty of time to recover from the oedema.
