Morata forced to be substituted "as a precaution" due to cervical trauma

Alvaro Morata withdrew "as a precaution" on the verge of half-time of Sunday's match against Osasuna at the Metropolitano stadium due to "a cervical trauma", for which he was treated on the pitch and left the pitch on his own feet for the dressing room, where he was replaced at half-time by Angel Correa.

In the 44th minute, in the midfield, David Garcia jumped in an aerial challenge with the Spanish striker and struck the back of the striker's head and neck with his arm, leaving him on the ground as he followed the play that led to Atlético's 1-0 lead at half-time, scored by Yannick Carrasco from Antoine Griezmann's pass.

Morata, still conscious, was treated for a few moments on the pitch by the club's medical services before retiring on his own feet to the dressing room.

Atletico ended the first half with one man down due to the absence of Morata, who was replaced at half-time by Angel Correa.
