Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has already had Alvaro Morata available for training with the squad on Friday, after overcoming a cervical sprain suffered against Osasuna, and Stefan Savic, out since 24th April due to a fractured toe in his right foot, just two days before Sunday's game against Real Sociedad at the Metropolitano stadium.
The Madrid striker missed last Wednesday's game for that reason, while the Montenegrin centre-back, a permanent fixture when fit, has missed the last six games due to injury since suffering the same problem against Barcelona at the Camp Nou.
The two players are now in the final stages of their recovery. Saturday's session will reveal whether they are finally ready to make their comeback in official competition in the match against San Sebastian, in which the Argentinian coach is expected to keep the other five absentees from last Wednesday's game against Espanyol: goalkeeper Jan Oblak, defender Reinildo Mandava, midfielders Marcos Llorente and Thomas Lemar (both in the final stages of their recovery) and striker Memphis Depay.
Without those five men and waiting to see if Morata and Savic will be included in the coach's squad, the rest of the squad is at his disposal for the penultimate La Liga game against Real Sociedad, precisely their immediate pursuers, in 4th place, five points behind 3rd place Atletico, who have won 8 consecutive games at their stadium.
