Real took the lead after 23 minutes of the game, when the returning Dani Carvajal crossed from the right and the ball was only half-cleared.
With the ball dropping from the heavens, just outside the box, Modric took aim, firing the ball back from whence it came first time, with Nauzet Perez in the home goal only able to help the ball into the corner.
