Modric and Mendy return to training with Real Madrid

Real Madrid returned to training on Tuesday afternoon ahead of next Saturday's league visit to Real Sociedad in a session in which they began to recover some of the internationals who have been with their respective national teams.

Luka Modric completed the training session behind closed doors at the Valdebebas training complex, as did French defender Ferland Mendy, who had to return from the France training camp with a muscle problem.

The session, also attended by uncapped internationals Rudiger, Courtois, Vallejo, Lucas Vazquez and Fran Garcia, began with an "intense workout" in the gym, which gave way to a series of physical work on the pitch.

Alaba, Camavinga, Tchouameni, Bellingham, Ceballos and Militao are still recovering from injury. The arrivals of Mbappe, Carvajal, Arda Guler, Lunin, Brahim, Vinicius, Rodrygo, Endrick and Valverde are still awaited.
