Newcastle United striker Miguel Almiron, who has been out with a muscle strain, became this Thursday the fourth player out for Paraguay for Saturday's friendly with Colombia. Midfielder Blas Riveros, striker Julio Enciso and defender Fabian Balbuena are the other absentees.
Almiron, chosen best player for October in the Premier League, will miss the game together with Riveros (Brondby), Enciso (Brighton) and Balbuena (Corinthians).
The Paraguay squad, led by Argentine Guillermo Barros Schelotto, will travel this Thursday to the USA, where they will face Colombia at the DRV PNk stadium in Fort Lauderdale. They were beaten 1-0 by Peru in a friendly played on Wednesday in Lima.
The Paraguayan Football Association (APF) announced that Blas Riveros and Julio Enciso will not form part of the squad for "issues with documentation" while Balbuena is out after getting sent off against Peru.
"Against Colombia we are going to keep on trying out players," Schelotto announced after defeat to Peru.
The match with the Colombian national team will be the last of the year for Argentina, who are preparing for the start of the South American 2026 World Cup qualifiers in March. That event will take place in the USA, Mexico and Canada.
