Jose Juan Macias has won over Mexican football fans for a few years now with his talent. The Chivas footballer, who played for two seasons at Leon, showed again how good he is before football was halted due to the coronavirus.
The Mexican international, who has scored four goals in five matches for his country, had netted four goals in nine games before football was stopped and Borussia Dortmund were well on their way to signing him.
After some hesitation, the Germans are apparently interested in finishing off the deal. The success of Erling Haaland's arrival encourages Dortmund to sign players who are similar to him and Macias is.
On 'Fox Sports' programme 'La Ultima Palabra', his future was spoken about: "They have been following Macias for some time. He has been seen, reviewed and the only thing we are waiting for is for Borussia Dortmund to come in with an offer to take Macias to Europe."
On the programme they stated the offer is not going to be as good as what it was pre COVID-19. "I think before the pandemic they were going to offer between 13 and 18 million euros without any problem. Now, with the crisis, they are talking, I imagine, of 10 million plus 10% or 20% of a future sale."
He would not be Borussia Dortmund's first footballer from Latin America. The Bundesliga outfit recently bought Balerdi from Argentinian football and the player has got some minutes under his belt in the German league despite his young age.
