Mexican Edson Alvarez to go to Valencia?

Javi Gracia recently pointed out that he does not know whether new signings will come in the January transfer window, but Valencia are studying possible signings which help relieve the strain on the club's coffers. 

Edson Alvarez is Valencia's new target, who also have Diogo Leite and Daniele Rugani on their agenda. However, the Mexican is the most interesting option because of his youth and bright future. 

"That's not my jobn. I've already spoken about it. I gave my opinion on one point, the president knows it and he took the decisions he deemed appropiate. I haven't had a meeting and I don't think I'll have one," Gracia said in a press conference. 

'SuperDeporte' reports that Valencia is focussed on reinforcing the defence. The Ajax player will not join for free, since his contract runs until June 2024, but the fee cannot be too great because of Valencia's financial situation. 

At 23, the Mexican international defender has played 12 matches for Ajax this season after arriving in Amsterdam in July 2019 from Club America. That move was done for 15 million euros.
