As Kieran Trippier left Atletico for Newcastle in January, the 'Rojiblancos' are looking for a replacement. The favourite to take his place is Aston Villa's Matty Cash. Atelti were not able to sign him in the January window but they could very well turn their attentions back on him in the summer.
Danny Mills, ex Premier League player, believes that Madrid will submit a bid for Cash and has been outspoken with his opinion on this: "It's a risk to go abroad if you don't speak the language. It went well for Trippier at Atletico, he won La Liga but it's changed at the club now..." he analysed for 'Football Insider'.
Mills made it very clear that he feels he should stay at his current club: "Why would you want to leave Aston Villa? They have some really good signings, Gerrard, a young coach who's doing very well and the money to get to the next level".
For the ex Leeds man, Aston Villa could be a team which challenges the 'Big Six'. "If they get Coutinho on a permanent deal, they've already got players like Ollie Watkins. They also brought in Lucas Digne. Everyone has been boosted by Coutinho and Gerrard. A few more singings and there's no reason why they can't challenge for top six. They are competing to be amongst the best in the Premier League", he finished.
