Mario Hermoso was sent off in the derby against Real Madrid for two yellow cards. The second was for pushing Ceballos. The former Arsenal man made a meal of it and went to the ground. However, referee Jose Luis Munuera Montero showed him a second yellow card and he had to see the final few minutes from the dressing room.
Atletico Madrid first appealed to the Competition Comittee, who decided not to rescind the ban. The club then took it to the Appeals Committee.
'Marca' reports that their second appeal has fallen on deaf ears. The Appeals Committee also rejected the appeal.
They believe that the images Atletico provide to request the second yellow to be taken away are compatible with what Munuera Montero wrote in the match report.
So, Mario Hermoso will not be able to play in Atletico's next match. On matchday 7, Simeone and his men will have to travel to Sevilla without the central defender.
