Mariano goal disallowed by centimetres!

Luck was not on Mariano's side as he returned to the Real Madrid starting XI. In the eight minute, a great move of his nearly led to the opening goal of the Madrid derby at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez.

The Real Madrid striker got ahead of Djene and then went around David Soria, who came out of his goal, but did not get it. Mariano then tapped into an empty net.

However, Mariano was in an offside position. The goal was disallowed on the field by the linesman and the VAR, a couple of minutes later, confirmed the call. 

It meant the score was still 0-0 and Mariano could not believe it. It was a matter of centimetres and Real Madrid fans were not happy.
