As confirmed by agent Matias Morla on Friday, Maradona will return to Dorados de Sinaloa for a second season, after spending time back in his native Argentina for the festive season. Maradona took over the struggling second tier team in September, and helped them to the play-off final, where they were eventually beaten by Atletico San Luis on aggregate.
In spite of barely spending a year in any of his previous managerial roles, with Argentina or Racing, the Argentine legend has now allegedly confirmed that he wants to remain in charge of the mexican outfit. Maradona's agent confirmed the reports on social media, writing: 'Diego Maradona has arranged to continue with the Dorados de Sinaloa and will stay as coach of the team for the whole season.'
Dorados are due to play their first game of the new season on Sunday, when they host Celaya at Estadio Banorte
