Manchester United turn to Koopmeiners as De Jong alternative

Manchester United have embarked on an new project with Ten Hag at the helm and the first addition he wants to make to his squad is Frenkie de Jong. The Dutchman is highly sought after by the coach and he has already requested that the club do all they can to make his transfer happen this summer.

According to 'The Daily Mail', the Red Devils have began strongly considering another centremidfielder in the form of Teun Koopmeiners. The Dutchman is a key piece in Gian Piero Gasperini's plans at Atalanta, and he is contracted at the Italian club until 2025.

Although no official figures have been mentioned, BeSoccer Pro estimates that Teun Koopmeiners' current market value is 38.4 million euros. It would come as no surprise if Atalanta asked for a fee higher than this, but it would be far from the 80 million Barca are asking for Frenkie de Jong.
