Manchester City edging closer to £75m Mahrez move

City atempted to bring the Algerian to the club in January, only for that move to fall through as the deadline approached.

In recent weekes, widespread sources have claimed that City have reignited their interest in the 27-year-old, with the aformentioned source reporting that an agreement could be reached as early as next week.

The 'Foxes' are keen to bring City youngster Patrick Roberts to the club, but it is understood that any move for the former Celtic loanee would come separate from the Mahrez negotiations.

Pep Guardiola's side are reported to have made Mahrez and Napoli midfielder Jorginho their top two targets this summer as they continue to look to build a squad capable of dominating both at home and in Europe.

Mahrez was key to Leicester as they stunned the footballing world to win the Premier League title back in 2015/16,  but despite his commitment to the club, he is keen to make the move to City whilst the interest is there, with the opportunity to work with Guardiola too good to turn down.
