Injuries have put Man Utd in a difficult position. The Red Devils travelled to Turin with a list of 22 players which do not include Paul Pogba, Donny van de Beek and Edinson Cavani. Very important men out against Real Sociedad.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed their absence minutes beforehand in a press conference. He also revealed that Anthony Martial and Scott McTominay are a doubt. They have travelled, but may not play.
"Paul Pogba is not going to play until March. Martial and McTominay are a doubt and both Van de Beek and Cavani have not travelled," the Man Utd coach told the media. He also spoke about opponents Real Sociedad.
"It's probably the most difficult tie you could choose from our group without being a group winner. They are a very good team, they were top of the league for a time and they have top and experienced players," he said.
"We'll have to play at a high level to beat Sociedad," Solskjaer said. "The whole team ate good. We'll have to be very well prepared to stop them."
Solskjaer warned his side, but without putting fear into them: "They're aggressive, good with the ball, they're good defensively and they like to have possession. I don't think we're going to be worried while playing, but we'll have to fight hard to get a good result."
