Man Utd midfielder Mount could return against Crystal Palace

Manchester United are in 9th place in the Premier League. Erik Ten Hag's team have won 3 games and lost the other 3 they have played. The Red Devils are going through a start of the season in which injuries have caused them a lot of damage.

One of those injuries is to new signing Mason Mount. The midfielder, who joined from Chelsea this summer transfer window for 70 million euros, was injured in the Old Trafford side's 2-0 loss to Tottenham.  The player who won the Champions League in 2021 with Chelsea has missed a month of competition in which he has missed two games.

The England international has accelerated his recovery and his fitness has improved and could be available for Manchester United's EFL clash against Crystal Palace. Harry Maguire is also back in training, United's centre-back has trained with the rest of his team-mates and could also get some playing time in the match.

The Red Devils will face Crystal Palace in the third round of the EFL Cup. The Glaziers sit 10th, just one place below United in the Premier League. Roy Hodgson's side will be looking to end their two-game losing streak and will be a tough nut to crack for a Manchester United side looking to get through to calm things down at Old Trafford.
