Manchester United are close to splashing out the cash on two players: Maguire and Bruno Fernandes. The signing of the former has been practically done for several days, but the operation has not been fully done. With Bruno Fernandes, who they will put 70 million euros in for, it just needs Sporting Lisbon to agree to the deal.
Maguire will cost around 90 million euros. This would make him become the most expensive defender in history by going ahead of the Dutchman Van Dijk. Man City also fought for the English international, but it will be the Red Devils who finally get him.
In fact, Solskjaer is even hoping Maguire can join the club sooner rather than later. The side are currently at the International Champions Cup and the Norwegian manager also hopes the Pogba situation gets sorted out one way or another.
Real Madrid are keeping an eye out from Madrid, aware that the possible arrival of the French midfielder would be at the last minute. The Premier League transfer market closes on 8th August although 'AS' reports that sources close to the deal say that United would have no problem in doing the deal later on.
All this would be true if, as seems likely, they are able to get Bruno Fernandes. 70 million euros will be the final offer the English club put in for the Sporting Lisbon midfielder and they would have in the Portuguese international the perfect substitute for Pogba. Despite the fact the Frenchman has not handed in a transfer request, he wants to leave the club.
