Two top seasons at Lille have been enough for Nicolas Pepe, a 24 year-old Ivorian striker, to make the move to a big European club like Manchester United. The English club which is constantly seeing change, could seal his transfer for 70 million pounds.
At least that is the information 'Sky Sports' are reporting, who also said something else. Man Utd have gone ahead of many top clubs like PSG and Bayern in the fight to sign the striker. This is something we already knew though.
If that were not enough, the Lille president, Gerard Lopez, explained to 'La Voic du Nord' that Pepe's departure is practically a fact. The only thing that needs doing is to agree on the final few aspects of the contract.
"Pepe's move is almost sealed. He could have gone last summer. It's true that there are big offers and big clubs that want him, so I think he'll leave, but you never know in football," the Lille big wig said.
Man United are continuing to look to strengthen their squad and are also waiting to see what happens with Paul Pogba. As well as Pepe, the English outfit could soon seal the transfers of Maguire and Bruno Fernandes.
