Manchester City's Premier League game with West Ham has been called off due to safety concerns over Storm Ciara. The news has been confirmed by both clubs.
The decision was made at 11.15am local time on Sunday morning by Manchester City's Safety Officer after consultation with West Ham.
Although the pitch was fit for play, the fixture was postponed due to "extreme and escalating weather conditions and in the interests of supporter and staff safety."
No new date has been announced for the fixture.
Storm Ciara has already caused several matches to be postponed across Europe in the Dutch Eredivisie, Belgian Pro League and the Bundesliga game between Borussia Monchengladbach and Cologne.
In the UK, Arsenal's women's Premier League match with Tottenham, rugby league matches between Huddersfield and Leeds and Wakefield v Catalans plus horse racing at Exeter and Southwell have also fallen foul of the weather. 93mph winds have also grounded flights across the country as well as cancelled train services.
However, Sheffield United have confirmed that their Premier League match with Bournemouth goes ahead while Millwall's Championship game with West Brom is expected to be played as scheduled.
