Man City star Foden back with England after child birth

England's player Phil Foden returned to training with Gareth Southgate's squad on Friday after the birth of his third child and is already preparing for his team's Round of 16 clash with Slovakia at the European Championship.

The midfielder's return was announced by the English Football Association through a video of the player entering the training ground. Foden was absent for 48 hours to travel to Great Britain with the permission of his federation and is now ready to face the next match of his national team.

England had a rather erratic first phase, winning only one match (0-1 against Serbia) and drawing the other two (1-1 and 0-0 against Denmark and Slovenia, respectively). In addition, the 'Three Lions' have been criticized for their poor play.

Although he has not shone, the Manchester City player is key in Gareth Southgate's scheme, who could introduce some changes to improve his team's image and reach the quarterfinals of the competition. Kobbie Mainoo and Cole Palmer are presented as options to replace Conor Gallagher and Bukayo Saka, although Foden himself, irregular during the tournament, could also end up on the bench.
