Man City launch a new historic away kit for next term

The classics always come back. Manchester City on Thursday unveiled their new away kit for the 2024/25 campaign. It is a striped kit in neon yellow and black, with small blue stripes to complement the rest of the colours.

Puma is the sponsor of this kit, as well as the rest of the kits. But doesn't this kit look familiar? The Sky Blues wanted to pay tribute to one of the club's historic moments, considered a turning point in City's history.

"Take May 30th, 1999, when they overcame a two-goal deficit to win the Second Division play-off final versus Gillingham on penalties. This match has a special place in fan culture and so does the neon yellow and navy striped kit the team wore on the day," they wrote on their website.

They have decided to launch this kit for next season to mark the 25th anniversary of that achievement. Players such as Erling Haaland, Ruben Dias and Kevin De Bruyne, among others, posed with the new kit for the Manchester club's video advert.
