The Citizens made one final offer for the coveted 26-year-old, offering a deal worth £65million which included a player. However, after discussing terms, Man City decided to walk away from Riyad Mahrez. The fee was ultimately a sticking point.
Leicester were after a combined package of around £95m - cash plus a player. City were very interested in bringing in Mahrez but not at any price, and he will not be moving to the Etihad in this window.
