Man City 'drank all the alcohol in Manchester' before Brighton draw

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola held a press conference after the draw against Brighton and gave a curious analysis of his side's performance after they celebrated the Premier League title a few days ago.

"I was worried about how the team was going to be, after we drank all the alcohol in Manchester 40 hours ago," joked the Catalan coach, when asked by reporters.

In that sense, Guardiola was full of praise and explained why his team were crowned champions: "We showed why we are champions against a team that plays like Brighton, they had chances, we had chances, we scored a goal, they scored a goal, I didn't see a lack of intensity.

'"When you win the Premier League you have to celebrate. They did it with the families, they enjoyed it a lot and the next morning was just sauna time," he continued.

"And the day after, we talked a little bit in the afternoon: 'Guys, we have to be ready for Brighton' and they did it," the Spanish coach concluded.
