"Maguire is a scapegoat for Man Utd supporters"

Manchester United centre-back Harry Maguire has been out of favour at Old Trafford in recent weeks. The English international has lost his key role in Erik ten Hag's squad and has started the season playing as a substitute.

Arsenal legend Martin Keown spoke about the 30-year-old's current situation in an interview with 'talkSPORT' and said he believes Maguire is "an escapegoat" for Manchester United's fans.

"I do feel he [Maguire] gets a lot of unfair criticism. I do feel he's a scapegoat for the Manchester United supporters. I do feel that things have not got much better since he has come out of the team," he said.

"Talking about driving buses through teams, and I think you could do that at Manchester United at the moment. It is really the midfield that is the issue and Harry Maguire is not necessarily the problem," he concluded.
