Real Madrid had good and bad moments in their first official friendly. The bad news was that they gave the Scots space. Rangers deservedly cancelled out Rodrygo's goal as Sakala levelled.
Carlo Ancelotti's men tried to play the ball out from the back when Kamara dispossessed them near the edge of the Real Madrid area. The ball fell at the feet of Sakala who drove the ball towards goal. He was one on one with Lunin and he beat him with a powerful right footed strike.
The goalkeeper did not have time to react and he had to pick the ball out the back of his net. Steven Gerrard's men took advantage of the fact Madrid had sat back. At 0-0 and 0-1, Lunin had made plenty of fine saves to keep the Spanish club ahead, but he could not do anything with this one.
Madrid had taken the lead through Rodrygo after a bit of good fortune. However, Rangers definitely looked more match fit and fought back.
