Everyone in Italy is alert to the situation of Cristiano Ronaldo. His Juventus contract runs out in 2022, but there a some who think he could leave this summer.
Ex-Juve player Mehdi Benatia spoke about the Portuguese's potential depature to 'Tuttojuve.com', explaining that, for the good of the whole team, he hopes Ronaldo stays in Turin.
"I don't know anything about Cristiano but, as a fan, I hope he stays. At 36-years-old, he continues to be a war machine, capable of beating all kinds of records. You have to keep a player like that for life", he stated.
Benatia recommended that Juve don't follow in the footsteps of Real Madrid, who, in his opinion, are paying for the mistake of letting him leave back in the day. "They were wrong to sell him. Juve shouldn't make the same mistake", he added.
Benatia can't wait to see the attacking trio of Chiesa, Ronaldo and Dybala, saying: "They need no introduction, it's a great trio." He also referred to the potential role Locatelli will have in the team: "He is the future: young, talented... it will go well, I have no doubt", he highlighted.
Lastly, he advised Juve to bring Pjanic back to Turin if they get the chance: "They (the club) need experience, players that are used to playing at Barcelona, Madrid, Munich... if you want to win the Champions League, you have to do so with people like that".
