Madrid assume Militao will be out when La Liga returns

The international break, before it even formally kicked off, has already hit Real Madrid with four injuries: Dani Ceballos, Ferland Mendy, Aurelien Tchouameni and Eder Militao. As Los Blancos return to the main competition, their medical services assume that the Brazilian will not be able to make Carlo Ancelotti's squad.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano reported this on Friday morning. He indicates that as soon as the central defender lands in Spain, the club will carry out more in-depth tests than those carried out on him in Brazil. The ‘Canarinha’ in this break, will face Ecuador and Paraguay to advance in the qualifying round before the 2026 World Cup.

In their return to La Liga action, the ‘Merengues’ will take on Real Sociedad in San Sebastian on Saturday 14 September. Imanol Alguacil's side tend to be among the toughest at home, although they have made a better start to the campaign. Even so, the Santiago Bernabeu expedition could do with a defender who has been a regular starter when he has been fit.

Three days after the match against the Basques, Real Madrid will make their debut in the new Champions League league phase, where they will host Bundesliga runners-up Stuttgart. Another big fixture already on the calendar for the reigning European champions is at the end of the month, when the Madrid derby awaits at the Civitas Metropolitano against Atletico.
