Luke Shaw 'devastated' as fresh injury setback sidelines Man Utd defender

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has been dealt another blow in his injury-plagued season, with a fresh setback expected to keep him out of action for several weeks. The 29-year-old, who has made only three substitute appearances this season, took to social media to share his disappointment.

"It is hurting a lot having to write this as I really thought I had got through my recent struggles and was on a positive path going forward, but unfortunately I've had a small setback," Shaw wrote. Club sources have confirmed that this is a new injury, unrelated to his previous issues, adding to the player's frustration.

Shaw's absence will be keenly felt by United, who have struggled defensively this season. The left-back's last competitive start came in England's Euro 2024 final defeat to Spain, highlighting the extent of his injury woes.

Despite the setback, Shaw remains determined to overcome this latest challenge, stating, "I understand there's going to be people frustrated, angry, disappointed and I understand all that. There is no-one feeling that more than me at this moment in time."
