This Wednesday, Jose Fuentes, president of Nacional, travelled to Madrid to meet with Luis Suarez and persuade him to join the Uruguayan club in this transfer window.
"The meeting was very positive. Luis' family is convinced about going to Uruguay. He has a lot of offers, but the people gathering on the streets moved him. We're very close," the board member said in dialogue with 'Telemundo'.
And in the same way, he added: "We spoke about the time, I said four months so that he is fit for the World Cup. One of the decisive things was the family and they are now determined to come to Uruguay for this time."
After these comments, several Uruguayan media outlets took Suarez's return to Nacional for granted. 'El Pistolero' has reportedly made the decision to play these months at the Uruguayan side to arrive in the best form at the 2022 World Cup.
For now, nothing has been confirmed officially, but the truth is that the 34 year-old striker would reportedly rule out offers from Europe to return to his homeland. In the coming days, there could be important news.
