Lucas Silva eyes swift return to Real Madrid

Real Madrid-owned Lucas Silva is hopeful that his season-long loan move at Marseille goes a long way to proving his worth for the Spanish club.
Seemingly adapting well to life in France, the Brazilian midfielder is nevertheless eager to return to the Santiago Bernabeu and has outlined a clear plan to fulfil his wishes.
“I intend to have a good season in France, improve, play at the Olympic Games next year, then return to Real Madrid,” the 22-year-old told Globoesporte. “When I had opportunities at Madrid I think I did well, but then I lost a bit of space.
“I was adapting to a new style of football and country, but I think it was nonetheless important for me to join Madrid. The last six months were a very good experience.
“I couldn't stay under the new coaching staff because I didn't have a Spanish passport, but Rafa Benitez wished me luck and told me I'd remain in his thoughts. It's a good opportunity for me to demonstrate my qualities.”
On the subject of qualities, Silva is aware that there are certain facets of his game that need improving – something he feels he will have the perfect opportunity to do at his new club.
“Marseille are a big club. The most important thing is to be involved with a great team, and my objective is to get up to speed with European football.
“The coach played a key role after my arrival. He told me I'd help the team in many ways and that I'd have a great opportunity to play and generate good rhythm. I hope to have a great season.”
