Lucas Hernandez, who can play central defender or left-back, is PSG's fifth summer signing after Slovakian Milan Skriniar, with whom he could form the central pivot, Uruguayan midfielder Manuel Ugarte, Spanish striker Marco Asensio and Korean attacking midfielder Lee Kang-In.
"I feel a lot of joy!" said Lucas in the club's statement. "I've been waiting to join PSG for quite a while, it's finally happened."
"Paris or Marseille?" asked Ambre Godillon, a journalist for the club's website. The Marseille-born player gave a clear-cut answer: "This is Paris!"
In another video posted on PSG's social networks, the defender expressed his eagerness to play in front of the fans. "I can't wait to see you at the Parc des Princes. Ciao friends!".
In his four years at Bayern, the Frenchman has made just 107 appearances for the German outfit, fewer than Neymar and Marco Verratti at PSG, who have mocked for their repeated absences from major matches due to injury.
The French international has been recovering from a torn ligament sustained of his first 2022 World Cup match but the Ligue 1 champions have given him a five-year contract, despite his injury.
