Lodi's move doesn't work out: he will miss the World Cup

In life, decisions don't always go according to plan. In football it is much the same, and players change their clubs for their own benefit, even if sometimes time proves to be right and the decision is not the right one.

One of the thousands of examples is Renan Lodi. The Brazilian full-back had lost prominence in Cholo Simeone's plans and opted for a change of scenery, as it was the year of the World Cup and his main objective was to be at the big event.

That is why he decided to opt for the fast track and join Nottingham Forest, a newly promoted club that would guarantee him the playing time he needed to prove his level and thus have a chance with Tite.

However, time has proven Simeone right after those words in the press conference. The Brazilian has not made the Brazil squad and what is worse, he is not even guaranteed a starting place at Forest. Of the 15 Premier League games played, the defender has only accumulated 420 minutes on the pitch.
