Atletico Madrid returned to training this Saturday, just 12 hours after beating Cadiz 2-1 at the Wanda. Renan Lodi and the injured Mario Hermoso both were involved.
The Brazilian full back ended the Cadiz game with a knock, but once again trained on Saturday on the pitch so he will be ready for the Champions League last 16 second leg against Man Utd at Old Trafford.
Jose Maria Gimenez, who was subsituted in the second half of the match "had a soleus injury," according to Simeone, also trained along with the rest of the starters of Friday's game. Angel Correa, played the last half hour of the game with a swollen instep and ankle, teammate Rodrigo de Paul revealed. That said, Gimenez will be out for three weeks.
In the group, Mario Hermoso also did training and ball exercises and he is closer to a return for Tuesday's match.
Even including Hermoso's return, Atletico have six players out: Daniel Wass and Matheus Cunha are out for a while while Sime Vrsaljko, Thomas Lemar and Geoffrey Kondogbia all have muscle problems. Yannick Carrasco is suspended.
